Hand engraving · Gondomar, Portugal
The art of the burin, in steel and gold
One-of-a-kind pieces where every line is cut by hand — the centuries-old craft of Gondomar, for collectors worldwide.
Every line is cut by hand, one by one. No shortcuts, no machines — just the burin, the steel and time.
Work
A selection
Firearms
Actions, locks and trigger guards covered in English scroll, game scenes and gold inlay. Where mechanism meets ornament.
The detail
Engraved action — scroll and flower
Every petal, every scroll: cut by hand, point by point.
Jewellery & Objects
The same burin, now on gold: bangles, cigarette cases and bespoke pieces, engraved by hand, point by point.
The Craft
A craft of few
In Portugal, the engravers who still cut metal by hand can be counted on one hand. It is knowledge passed from master to apprentice that no machine can replace: the hand hesitates, decides, leaves its character. Each piece takes time, patience and a trained eye — and stays one of a kind, forever.
